These terms apply to the Moddy Discord bot and the website at moddy.bot (together, “Moddy”). By adding Moddy to a server, signing in to the dashboard or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you do not agree, remove Moddy from your server and stop using the website.
What Moddy does
Moddy reads messages in servers where it is installed, checks them against the natural-language rules that server managers write, and can delete messages or time out members when a rule matches. Decisions are made by an AI model and can be wrong. Moddy is a tool to help your moderators, not a replacement for them.
Your responsibilities
- You must follow the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- Server owners and managers are responsible for the rules they configure, the actions they enable and for telling their members that messages are moderated automatically.
- Do not use Moddy to harass people, to break the law, or to collect or store other users’ messages outside Discord.
- Do not try to reverse engineer, overload, bypass the limits of, or get unauthorized access to Moddy or its infrastructure.
Plans, votes and payments
Each plan includes a monthly number of checked messages per server, as described on the pricing page. Free servers may need a daily top.gg vote from the owner or an administrator to keep moderation running after a daily allowance. When an allowance runs out, Moddy pauses moderation until it renews.
Paid subscriptions belong to one Discord server, renew monthly and are processed by our payment provider, Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled case by case through our support server, except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices or allowances for future billing periods and will show the current terms on the pricing page.
Availability
We work to keep Moddy running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Moddy may be interrupted by outages at Discord, our AI provider or our hosting, and when the AI provider fails, Moddy does not act on messages.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Moddy and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for moderation decisions made or missed by the bot, or for content posted by Discord users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Moddy in the three months before the claim.
Suspension and ending
You can stop using Moddy at any time by removing it from your server. We may suspend or end access for servers or accounts that break these terms or Discord’s rules, or that put Moddy or other users at risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use Moddy after a change means you accept it. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
